Our Mission

Locally and nationally, Canines for Service is dedicated to empowering people with disabilities achieve greater independence.

The longest serving service dog organization and the only accredited organization corporately based in North Carolina.

Canines for Service (CFS) selects and trains the dogs for people with mobility disabilities and Veterans with mobility limitations, traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress. . CFS DOES NOT  train a persons own dog or certify a dog trained by an individual, trainer or another organization.
Everyday people experiencing physical limitations are longing to live more independently. From picking up an item they have dropped or getting a bottle of water, a skilled service dog from Canines for Service can help.  For more than 18 years, Canines for Service has devoted its energy to passionately advocating for independence for people with disabilities.

There are so many ways for you to help give the gift of independence with these highly skilled dogs.  Just scoll down this page and see some of the ways you can be a part of this mission.
