Due to the most recent updates regarding the COVID-19 outbreak and the "Stay at Home" order that has been enacted by Governor Roy Cooper, New Hanover County and the City of Wilmington, our dog walking volunteer shifts have been cancelled and our office is closed to patrons through April 30th.  Our trainers, interns and military inmates are doing an exceptional job continuing to train, care for and love each dog in our program.

We hope everyone stays safe and healthy during these uncertain times and thank you for your understanding.

Matt, U.S. Army Veteran

Matt spent close to 9 years in the Army, going on multiple deployments and sacrificing so much for our country. Rubble was a dog that was overlooked in the shelter, spending time without a home prior to coming to Canines for Service. We knew Matt and Rubble would be a special pair and are so touched to see the difference Rubble is already making in Matt’s life.
